After reading Extend the Life of Your Razor Blades with Your Forearm and Extend Your Razor’s Life with a Pair of Jeans I thought of putting this to test if it actually works; like the Myth Busters guys. I used a 500X digital microscope to take the pictures before and after sharpening the blades. This blade was used for more than 3 months or approx 80 uses before sharpening. I performed forehand sharpening method 25 times and jeans sharpening method then 25 times.

This is a brand new blade no uses at all.

Result : The method described here and here are PLAUSIBLE.
Good Job done. I’m going to use these methods now. Thanks

I’m slightly confused about the ambiguity of this article. Did you use the same blade approximately 80 before applying sharpening methods? The point is to sharpen it after each use which also removes water from the blade and prevents rust.
